Abstract

The sophistication and size of integration activities make data governance increasingly critical in retail and insurance. This paper analyzes how data governance improves data quality and regulatory compliance in such projects. These industries require sophisticated data governance frameworks to integrate diverse data systems to boost operational efficiency and customer insights and eliminate data management and compliance problems.
According to the report, data governance improves integration data quality, integrity, and consistency. Data governance encompasses platform-wide data management and usage policies, procedures, and responsibilities. These frameworks enable retail and insurance organizations address data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance challenges, particularly with sensitive customer and transactional data.

The study then examines data governance best practices. Clear data stewardship, data management principles, and advanced data governance technologies are highlighted. Data stewardship delegates data quality and management to accountable and supervised teams. Internal and external data usage should be considered throughout data intake, processing, storage, and dissemination. Data categorization, automated data quality checks, and compliance management tools may enhance governance.
